Horizon only thrives as a church that brings Christ to the community because of the generosity and dedication of our volunteers. There are many opportunities to get involved and to serve the community. These roles are rewarding, fun and challenging!
However, we strongly believe that you should only volunteer where God has called you to be involved. We won't pressure or guilt you into doing more than you can.

Volunteer Opportunities
Kids Leaders/Helpers
Do you want to make a difference in the lives of kids by showing them God’s love and teaching them the Word? Roles available for those who are happy to lead and teach and those who just want to help out!
Youth Leaders/Helpers
Do you have a passion to see teens and young adults connect with God and each other? Come help out with our Horizon Youth ministry and create a safe space for our next generation to thrive.
Sunday Set Up/Pack Up
Meeting in a rented space requires setting up and packing up every week. It is our faithful volunteers who are happy to put out chairs, clean and connect cables that make it all happen. Serve behind the scenes and discover that this is the team that has the most fun!
Sunday Service Team
Help make Horizon Church the most welcoming community in Canberra! This warm and friendly team is the first impression people have of the church, greeting people when they arrive and helping visitors to relax, meet new people and enjoy their time at Horizon. Roles include:
- Greeters who welcome people to church
- Servers who serve coffee after the service
Tech Team
This is the team that makes the church hum throughout the service – bringing both creativity and skill to helping the church focus on God not what is happening around them! Join us if you have skills in (or want to learn):
- Videography: We video our services for YouTube for those who can’t make it
- Photography: Photography during special events
- Audio Technician: Make the music sound amazing
- Words: Control the words up on the TV screen
Worship Team
Do you have a passion for worshipping God and leading others in a joyful noise? If you have passion and skill in singing or an instrument let us know – we’d love to have you as part of our team.
